VPRA In Bloom

Local Green Issues

As well as brightening up our area the VPRA work behind the scenes, trying to keep our area tidy and free from rubbish.

We often have members out around the Black Bobbies nature reserve and the Horseshoe Bend picking up the rubbish left by anglers and drinkers.

During the Summer of 2006 and again in 2007 we reported weed growth in the pond on the Black Bobbies which turned out to be the very invasive Pennywort. It has been treated twice and it is hoped this ill have done the job but there is the fear that it is in the river and will spread again.
