VPRA In Bloom

Why In Bloom and What we have done so far.

In the Autumn of 2005 the Village Park Residents Association made a decision to try and brighten up our Village area.

With the help of an award of a Community Chest grant from Thornaby Town Council and a donation of 5000 daffodils from Stockton Borough Council Care for Your Area we began planting bulbs around the Village Green and also donated a large quantity to the Village Primary School for pupils to plant in the school grounds.

In 2007 we once again planted bulbs around the area, another 10,000 crocus and daffodils planted and summer bedding was also planted around the area.

In 2008 we once again planted another 10000 spring bulbs and increased the summer bedding. This paid off and won us an award from Northumbria in Bloom

In 2009 we once again planted another 10000 spring bulbs and increased the summer bedding once more.
